Skills Mentor (Support Worker)
Specialist Autism Services are looking for committed and enthusiastic Skills Mentors (Support Workers) to work at our Bradford site.
Specialist Autism Services provides a unique blend of education and care.
We deliver a strengths-based autism specific personalised learning programme, to develop social, communication and employment skills which empower our members to engage with new opportunities, make informed choices, achieve their goals, maximising independence and inclusion.
We run a structured programme of daily social skills workshops to provide opportunities for individuals with an ASC to develop social skills in a non-pressured and engaging environment.
Successful applicants will become highly trained staff and support our members through their autism-specific learning programme, you will support members to build confidence, increase independence, form relationships and develop practical skills, whilst also having fun.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Experience of working or supporting in a care setting
- Able to work on own initiative and as an equal member of a team
- Good IT skills across a wide range of programmes/systems

Salaries
We pay competitive rates for our sector and regularly monitor local market information to help ensure we continue to be as competitive as we can.
Pension

28 days' leave increasing up to 33 days' leave
Specialist Autism Services employees receive at least 28 days' leave a year (including bank holidays) pro rata for people who work part time, when they start working for us.
With every 12 months of service up to 5 years we add an additional day of leave to an employee's allowance, meaning after 5 years' service employees receive 33 days' leave, pro rata.
-Birthday Leave
All employees of Specialist Autism Services receive an additional day of leave every year to take for their birthday, allowing you time to celebrate with your family and friends.
Sociable Working Hours
We take into account employees with young families needing to get their children to school in a morning and also the traffic congestion for staff when needing to be at a workplace for 9:00.
Access to an autism specific training and development programme
The training we deliver has been recognised nationally and is not only delivered to our staff team but to employees of local authorities, the fire service, prison services, to name but a few.
