Job Summary:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in sourcing raw materials, specifically timber, hardware, and other door set components
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain product information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Help manage inventory levels and ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time to meet production schedules
  • Process purchase orders and track order status, following up with vendors to resolve any delays or discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and products
  • Assist with the negotiation of contracts and longterm purchase agreements with suppliers
  • Work closely with the production team & Project Managers to forecast demand and evaluate stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with the company's quality standards and sustainability commitments
  • Support the accounts payable department by verifying invoices against purchase orders and resolving any pricing issues
  • Assist with the annual stock take and ongoing inventory management
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing department
  • Any other tasks required by the purchasing manager

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in a purchasing or administrative role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of supply chain management and inventory control
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, any experience with inventory management software would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
