ROLE SUMMARY

  • Lead capital and lease accounting or the Trust; providing a professional financial accounting service to the Trust in compliance with accounting rules and good practice guidelines.
  • Lead the accounting and reporting for capital and leasing for the Mid &South Essex Integrated Care Board and Partnership ('ICB/P').


Lead the Trust's capital programme, including facilitating Public Dividend Capital drawdowns and making returns in relation to the capital programme to respective stakeholders on behalf of the Trust.


  • Lead the implementation of the new IFRS 16 Lease accounting, including overseeing the lease register and ensuring the Trust remains compliant, accurate and up to date in the statutory accounting and the regulatory and internal reporting of all the Trust's leased assets.
  • Lead the capital and lease planning and reporting for the ICB/P.
  • Manage the team to ensure the Trust is provided with robust month and year end capital and lease accounting.
  • Work closely with the Financial Accounting team on the development of the detailed Cash Flow and Statement of Financial Position, Long Term Financial Model.
  • Lead the preparation of robust financial forecasts using financial and service knowledge.
  • Lead the production of monthly/quarterly financial return to NHSE/I for all financial accounting matters.
  • Responsible for the monthly and adhoc reports on the capital plan and position of the Trust and MSE ICB/P for the System Investment Group and Senior Finance Leaders Group.
  • Liaise with and provide information to Trust Auditors to facilitate the audit of the annual accounts.
  • Act as an authorised signatory for banking arrangements, and internal processes.
  • Keep up to date of all developments in accounting guidelines, and ensure these are interpreted and implemented correctly within the department.
