Finance Supervisor - Rent and Service Chargeson a
Fixed term basis until the end of October 2023.
The Role
In this key role you'll be supporting the Rent and Service Charge Manager in delivering complete and accurate rent setting and service charge information to customers and stakeholders.
Service charges cover the costs of maintaining communal areas for properties and can be quite varied depending on the property and type of services provided.
This role is crucial to ensuring that the Rent and Service Charge team follow correct proceduresand demonstrate effective controls within these processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a team of Service Charge Officers and Administrators, alongside our other Finance Supervisor, setting clear objectives and ensuring adequate training and development is provided to the team to ensure full understanding of processes, encouragingthem to identify improvements
- Ensuring customers, externally and internally, are provided with excellent and consistent customer service, including being point of contact for complaints management
- Supporting the Rent & Service Charge Manager in setting rents as required for new and existing properties, as well as planning and delivering the annual rent review, estimate and actual service charge statements to residents
- Understanding the complex legal and regulatory requirements of service charge related processes and providing solutions to overcome any problems within them
- Being responsible for completing appropriate reconciliations and controls throughout the team's processes
- Ensuring the team are meeting targets and delivering key milestones to agreed timescales, identifying and resolving potential issues which may impact on this. Ensuring Key Performance Indicators are tracked and monitored, providing performance informationas required
What we need from you
You should have previous knowledge and experience in a service charge or finance type role, preferably from within a housing environment (including leasehold and property management).
You'llalso need:
- Good managerial experience, with a focus on coaching and developing a team
- A professional and logical approach to problem solving with strong analytical skills
- An organised approach to your workload with the ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and experience in creating and working with formulas in Excel
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal colleagues as well as our customers, working collaboratively to ensure queries are dealt with quickly and professionally
