**Interim Alternative Provision Commissioner


Location:
London, mostly remote


Length: 3 -6 months initially

  • Key responsibilities of the Interim Alternative Provision Commissioner includes:_
  • Identifying the Alternative Provision providers that the Council should be using, as well as the status and quality of them, including any contracts or SLAs that are currently in place
  • Ensure quality assurance visits are scheduled and the reports are impactful and completed in a timely manner, and presented to senior leadership teams
  • Actively build relationships with the Alternative Provision providers, undertake onsite visits for example: with a school improvement colleague
  • Significant partnership working throughout the role
  • Ensure Ofsted readiness
  • Essential experience for the Interim Alternative Provision Commissioner includes:_
  • Good strategic and operational grasp on alternative provision and education
  • Experience in commissioning is essential
  • Understanding contracts and SLAs
  • Good interpersonal skills and relationship building
  • Ability to bring together teams of people to solve problems
