System Integration QA Lead (ICT_TECH SD_2023_13)

The role requires working closely with a broad range of stakeholders from QA, development, architecture, SRE and DevOps to ensure cohesive approaches are followed.

You will work closely with the QA Lead for platform solutions as well as the wider QA community of practice to ensure alignment to vision and standards.


  • Support adoption of continuous integration and continuous delivery through implementation of quality gates which align with the delivery level QA strategy
  • Define and implement system integration test approaches for complex solutions spanning multiple products
  • Implement and document test environments and frameworks supporting the agreed strategy
  • Work with the Product Owner and the Technical Lead to help define User Stories and acceptance criteria
  • Define storylevel test plans in collaboration with software engineers to achieve high levels of test automation
  • Develop tests at all levels of the testing pyramid
  • UI, API, system, integration, and unit tests
  • Execute a wide range of functional/nonfunctional tests, manual and automated
  • Perform exploratory test activities on new features and user stories
  • Review and debug product and test code to identify defects or performance bottlenecks
  • Support the Product Owner to close stories, validating acceptance criteria and defect fixes
  • Analyse test data and produce test reports for relevant checkpoints or milestones
  • Participate in Agile/scrum activities (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives), striving to continuously improve the team velocity, its processes and engineering practices
  • Participate in software design meetings and work with software engineers to ensure testability and best practices are built into the product architecture and code
  • Investigate new test tools/methodologies and integrate them as part of the team practices and continuous integration processes, also liaising with other teams to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Proven experience in working in software quality assurance roles within an Agile environment
  • Deep understanding of software testing, its main concepts, and processes: different testing levels, methods, and types; test estimation techniques
  • Natural curiosity with advanced analysis and problemsolving skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to review requirements and structure an appropriate test strategy / test plan
  • Extensive stakeholder and process management experience
  • Experience in driving complex integration projects from a QA perspective
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate your thoughts, and receptive to the views of others
  • Appreciation of current and emerging testrelated technologies and methodologies
  • Experience in continuous integration and delivery
  • Experience in developing tests at integration, component, and unit test levels

Other highly desirable, but not essential skills are:

  • Proficient in software development using object-oriented languages (C#, Java)
  • Proficient in software development using scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript)
  • Experience with software project management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Experience with Azure based SaaS services
