Location:
Flexible location with hybrid working. Travel around the South, South East & Western region. National travel and overnight stays will be required.


Hours:40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The successful Health & Safety will support our Southern Energy Recovery Facilities, thermal plant outages (UK&I), group maintenance, and all construction projects in the Southern/South East/WesternRegions.

What will you be doing?

  • Actively support the business on Safety, Quality & Assurance matters by conducting regular site visits (as per our Annual planner), assure the business the right standards are in place, undertake regular audits, conducting engagement visits and monitor progressagainst the VEOLIA Minimum Requirements (VMRs).
  • You will provide operational and outage support to the 5 Southern Energy Recovery Facilities and to Project Managers on the various Construction projects
  • Engage with operational and construction teams and identify further improvements and provide solutions.
  • To work closely with the R&A Manager/Advisors to support operations, outages and construction projects and where appropriate support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.
  • To liaise with clients, provide support and advice on industry best practices.
  • Monitor the performance of your sites/projects in order to identify where additional support is required.
  • Organise and support 7 day reviews following close calls, incidents and accidents where required.
  • Support sites by carrying out event investigations to identify the root cause.
  • Attend and support your contracts and projects and areas of responsibility by attending meetings where R&A presence is required.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum TechIOSH or similar and holder of the NEBOSH Construction / General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Have good knowledge of Construction, Design and Management Regulations CDM 201
  • Have technical and design knowledge/experience.
  • Proficient in internal audits, inspections and accident investigations.
  • Experience of different operational activities and the ability to influence key stakeholders on site.
  • An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industryleading customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • You must be able to drive and travel throughout the UK so a driving licence is essential.
  • Good presentational skills.
