    Default job background
    Retail
    Description

Globally Stantec sets the gold standard in the wet infrastructure sector and is recognized as the number one engineering consultancy in the NCE listings. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance our Water Network Modelling services for our clients and advance your career.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the water industry and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, and if you have expertise in clean water network modelling, this opportunity is perfect for you.

As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to lead on exciting projects linked to the provision of clean, safe water to our communities. These projects address pressing challenges such as pressure management, network optimisation, live modelling, leakage management, network rehabilitation, and smart network operations. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the advancement of innovative solutions and the adoption of the latest digital technologies in water network management.

Your responsibilities will include conducting advanced modelling of clean water networks, using data analysis to provide valuable insights for optimising water network performance, and working with the team to drive innovation within clean water network modelling.

Our Water Networks team works with the majority of UK & Ireland water companies, and our discipline has continued to grow in recent years. We have successfully secured key frameworks for AMP8 and are committed to expanding our service offerings, focusing on innovation and best practices, and providing integrated service delivery. This approach supports our clients in achieving their goals and enhances services to communities.

As a member of our collaborative team, you will:

    1. Lead the technical delivery of water network modelling, network management, and optimisation projects and programmes, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
    2. Leverage your experience in water network modelling and management to shape methodologies and solutions, driving best-in-class outcomes.
    3. Mentor junior team members, developing their technical and non-technical skills to support their career growth and the team's development. Contribute to training initiatives and coordinate wider training efforts.
    4. Commit to growing your internal and external networks to achieve positive project outcomes, benefiting both your professional development and the success of your projects.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a collaborative environment, shaping our service offerings and continuing to develop in a thriving setting. We welcome individuals from varied backgrounds, including regulatory, water companies, or consultancy, who have recent experience applying their knowledge of water networks and hydraulic modelling.

    We are looking for:

    1. Experience leading staff in hydraulic model development, design, and operational support, with advanced water systems knowledge.
    2. Ability to lead impact assessments, growth studies, and optimization projects.
    3. Advanced data analysis skills for water balance and network data.
    4. Expertise in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks, SynerGi, InfoWater, ArcGIS).
    5. Experience in asset risk assessment, client liaison, business development, and report writing.
    6. A relevant degree; postgraduate degree and chartership are preferred.
