An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team.


As part of the patient experience and engagement team, support the Head of Patient Engagement and Experience in driving forward the Mid and South Essex (MSE) Group patient experience and engagement agenda.


The post holder will support the Head of Patient Experience and Engagement in driving significant improvements in service as a result of the patient experience and ensure that the MSE Group has in place a robust monitoring system to collect evidence in support of the achievement of CQC outcomes and other relevant standards for patients.

The focus of this role is to be internally looking but externally influenced.

This will be a skilled role in listening to the wider public whilst ensuring the internal patient experience is shared with the public - a key intelligence function.

This requires excellent communication and listening skills.


Learning from the patient experience will be the main driver for this work and the post holder will lead on the development of learning strategies via audit and innovation to address areas in need of development.


To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate MSE Group values.


To work cohesively with the Head of Patient Experience and ensure that there is a well-defined work plan to improve patient experience and engagement across the MSE group taking into account individual Trusts culture.


To work with and support all levels of staff to provide support and expert guidance to assist them in exercising their duties and responsibilities to enhance patient experience.


To escalate any risks or concerns to Head of Patient Experience and Engagement, senior hospital managers as necessary and the Associate Director for Patient Experience and Engagement.


Take the lead on one of the site Trust for patient experience and engagement under the direction of the Head of Patient Experience and Engagement.

To lead at a local site on patient listening events.
Work in close partnership with the volunteering managers to drive up improvements in patient experience and engagement.


To work with the Head of Patient Engagement and Experience, to manage a number of significant engagement initiatives aimed at improving the patient experience and improving the MSE reputation.

To act as a point of expertise in relation to matters concerning patient experience and engagement.


To act as an ambassador for the organisation at all times and with colleagues to provide visible leadership and proactive communication with staff internally.
