A bit about what you'd be doing


The UK's leading sustainable fit out contractor Overbury and Morgan Lovell are looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join the Major Projects team in April for a significant project in Canary Wharf.

The Environmental Coordinator will be a key member of the on-site delivery team, assisting with the successful execution of the project

Environmental Certifications:
BREEAM, LEED & WELL.


The role reports to the Environmental & Sustainably Manager allocated to the project who will provide their training on site and support them with any questions they may have.

The role will be based at Overbury's largest project which is in Canary Wharf.

The Environmental & Sustainably Manager will continue to support the wider site team and interface with the consultants as necessary.

The Environmental Coordinator role is a significant opportunity to be involved in a unique project with the highest levels of environmental certification.

It would suit someone with a background in design, administration, environmental management, construction management, surveying or technical services as the role touches on skills and knowledge that are necessary in any of these roles.

What is the focus of this role?


Pre-construction and on-site support for sustainability certifications including BREEAM, LEED and WELL, plus collation of product information in relation to embodied carbon.

The coordinator will be responsible for administering the collection of evidence for the certifications from the supply chain.


This includes:

  • Product/material certificates such as VOC testing, FSC certificates, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Declare labels, TM65 etc
  • Material quantity and cost information
  • Providing feedback to numerous subcontractors on their evidence submitted and ensuring they meet the strict deadlines for completing all of their evidence to an acceptable standard. This will require high levels of organisation to ensure that the dates agreed with each of the subcontractors approx. 20 are met. The successful applicant will need to administer a tracking document for all of the subcontractors to track progress against their deadline dates
  • Checking and uploading waste documentation
  • Updating of internal tracker document with responsibilities / status
  • Reviewing of drawings and docs against certification requirements
  • Engaging with the air, water, acoustics etc testing agent and organising site visits
  • Organising Supply Chain Training sessions which will be delivered by the Environmental & Sustainability Manager
  • Drafting letters (templates provided) so that these can be signed by relevant project team members as confirmation that necessary actions have been completed and criteria met
Experience using Microsoft Excel is required and at least some familiarity with construction products/technology, the construction process, and drawings.

The project that the successful applicant will be involved with is large and complex so a knowledge of construction technology, how to read drawings and interpret specifications will be a significant advantage in them being able to understand the project quickly.

Clear and professional written and verbal communications is essential.


Familiarity with the above certifications/product labels would be an advantage but could be taught if the applicant has an interest in the sustainability credentials of construction products and materials.
