Shift Pattern:
Monday - Friday (09:00 - 17:00)


We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Quality Coordinator to join our Health & Safety team at our Skelmersdale site.

As a Health & Safety Quality Coordinator you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Health & Safety and Quality, of both the Transport and Warehouse Operations within Skelmersdale and the Midlands


Job responsibilities of a Health & Safety Coordinator include:

  • Promote and encourage a safe, open and honest working environment, including raising the awareness of Health & Safety
  • Leading and completing documentation for the monthly Health & Safety meetings
  • Ensuring that all requirements of the Health, Safety & Environment policies and standards are met by the depot through influencing and supporting the depot management team
  • Briefing depot teams on updated or new ways of working, standards, how to guides, risk assessments, SSOW's and QHSE alerts
  • Health & Safety auditing (inclusive of annual audits at both Minworth and Skelmersdale)
  • Attain super user status on both the EVOTIX and NVOLVE systems (full training will be provided)
  • Ensuring both Skelmersdale and Minworth have the correct quota of Fire Marshall's and First Aiders
  • Undertake regular Health & Safety tours of the site including periodic spot checks on alternative shift patterns.
  • Maintaining the NVOLVE system and associated training documentation
  • Conducting annual reviews of SSOW & Risk Assessments revisions, plus any adhoc adaptations
  • Support compliance in line with the quality department
  • Assist management in both identifying and fulfilling any H&S related training requirements.
  • Analyse EVOTIX for trends in data
  • Coordinate and assist management in ensuring accidents, incidents and near misses are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • EVOTIX
  • Coordinate and assist with external Health & Safety risk assessments when required; i.e. DSEAR. (Legionella & Noise etc.)
  • Lead and develop H&S representatives
  • Develop and promote targeted Toolbox Topic awareness themes, with the aim of accident and incident prevention
  • Manage site weekly checks and facilitate any corrective actions
  • Assist our group EHS Manager with all aspects of Health and Safety on site
  • Coordinate management in ensuring all legislative and safety licences are maintained, including the completion of a regular programme of racking, plant and LOLER inspections
  • Monitor contractor control ensuring permits are in place, they are completed correctly and insurances in place (control of contractors)
  • Support the site to ensure the attainment of any external quality accreditations.
  • Liaise with management to ensure H&S information and policy boards are updated with correct information in a timely manner

Qualifications
As a Health & Safety Coordinator you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:

  • Experience of carrying out a similar role
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Methodical, organised with good attention to detail
  • IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate(s) desirable, or a willingness to work towards as part of future development.
  • CPC desirable, or a willingness to work towards as part of future development.
  • Train the Trainer certification or a willingness to work towards as part of future development.
  • Fully computer literate
