The Salvation Army provides support and emergency accommodation for homeless adults within the Glasgow Area.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual35 to join our team in Wallace of Campsie House Lifehouse comprising of 42 flats and 10 bedsits as a
Specialist Support Worker.


Key Responsibilities:


As a motivated person you will deliver a high-quality support service, which promotes client choice and control and ensure clients learn new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcomes.

As a Specialist Support Worker, you would work with the wider staff team to share your skills and expertise.

You will be the lead person in delivering a Harm Reduction model of support.

The Specialist Support Worker also works closely with the management team and works as part of the on-call rota within Wallace of Campsie House

  • Knowledge of the main support needs of homeless and vulnerable clients
  • Skills and expertise in the area of substance misuse
  • Knowledge of the benefit system and an understanding of supported housing funding streams and reporting requirements.
  • Experience of developing and delivering support services.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with colleagues and external agencies to ensure effective provision of multi agency services.
  • Level 3 SVQ qualification or equivalent in a related field or a willingness to work towards.
