Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ø Review stock levels and requirements to plan purchases.
Ø Work with production to find solutions to material shortage.
Ø Manage material requirements by working closely with the Factory Manager and Sales lead.
Ø Request quotations for, raise orders for and book in stock items, consumables, and raw materials.
Ø Maintain product, order, and supplier data.
Ø Ensure timely deliveries and resolution of discrepancies through communication with suppliers.
Ø Negotiate with suppliers on product pricing and delivery terms.
Ø Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
Ø Evaluate alternative materials and suppliers; negotiating pricing and terms where applicable.
Ø Provide analysis on costings and supplier performance.
Ø Identify new suppliers through benchmarking and product evaluation.
Ø Liaising with logistic suppliers to manage Export requirements.
Ø Provide monthly updates to the Managing Director & Finance Director
Ø Occasional support within the sales team at exhibitions and or events.
Qualification & Personality Requirements
Ø Strong organisational administration skills.
Ø Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ø A minimum of 3 years related experience within a purchasing or buying environment.
Ø Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
Ø Experience working in a time-critical manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish and process contracts whilst developing relationships.
Ø Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently.
Ø Good attitude and proactive.
Ø Conscientious and responsible.
Ø Comfortable working in a team-based environment.
