We are looking for a Trainee Vehicle Fitter to join our Whale Family**Reporting to the Paint Shop Team Leader, you will work in a team environment to complete various tasks within the paint shop, strip & re-build process.

Within the role you will learn how to:

Re-Assemble tanker components after they have been painted using hand tools and power tools to fasten fit and secure components ready for the next part of the production process
Work to standard operating procedures and engineering data sheets to complete subassemblies to then be fitted to our tankers
Use plant machinery including forklift truck and overhead crane to fit components to chassis and tank body
Work within other areas of the process, including chassis and component preparation and build strip down will also be part of this role
Opportunities to progress / develop the role to cover paint spraying, shot blasting and steam cleaning operations

We are looking for someone who is / has

A positive attitude to problem solving
Happy to work a shift pattern
Ability to use a range of hand and power/pneumatic tools
Ability to understand work instructions / SOP's to assemble components for our different tankers
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Methodical and organised with good time management
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
