Junior Development Designer

Placement Location:
Loughborough

Number of vacancies: 2

Hours: 40 per week

Full training provided

Great experience of working in development design department which will enable you to gain excellent skills and knowledge to go towards your degree.

Job Specification (including project details/duties/responsibilities)

Agree design solution with sales and creative
Ensure specifications and relevant documentation is on the system on agreed timeline
Manage workload in order to meet the agreed deadline
Attending sales briefings and design/prototype presentations
Working with the creative team on viable design solutions
Providing spec drawings and information for quotations
Prototype development and managing prototype manufacture
Providing design engineering solutions, all production drawings, revisions for artwork, and basic planogramming when required
Providing design & engineering support to other parts of the business depending on workflow and priorities
Gaining and recording all client and internal approval sign offs
Ensuring health, safety and the environment are all respected in design specifications.
Liaison with other group entities for project and best practice sharing, visiting group or other overseas external sites depending on nature of business
Have excellent attention to detail and a disciplined approach to time management
Strong personnel, influencing and management skills
Have the ability to work on multiple projects running concurrently
The ability to work under pressure in order to meet extremely tight deadlines
Selfmotivated with good team work skills
Have excellent communication skills
Excellent IT skills, numeracy and analytical ability
Good working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD package and Microsoft Office packages
