Band 3 Therapy Assistant


Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting.

This post is within the Medicine team at HRI, but the successful recruit may be required to work anywhere within the HUTH therapy service dependent on service needs.


The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the assessment of need across a range of clinical conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity.

As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input the treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life

We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the therapy and multi-disciplinary teams and strive to treat patients and colleagues with compassion, kindness and respect


We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to complement our Therapy Service at Hull Royal Infirmary working within the Medicine team.

Although there is a requirement to be able to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.


This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person to deliver interventions as a Therapy Assistant to provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties.

In addition, the post holder will assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care including mobility aids and clinical supplies.


A NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent is a prerequisite of this post, as is the demonstrated achievement of therapy-specific competencies.


The post holder will be required to work a 1:5 weekend pattern as part of their normal duty to support a 7 day service.

Contribution to Bank holiday working is also required.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust strongly encourages new starters to have the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is not a mandatory requirement to work for us.


HUTH has two main sites:
Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million.

The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.


The Trust's secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services.

These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.


HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
