MERJE are partnered with a market leading trading business who are looking for a Trade Surveillance Officer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Operate under a high degree of regulatory scrutiny from regulators and exchanges in the wholesale traded markets in areas such as REMIT, EMIR, MAR, MiFID II and exchange/trading venue rules
The role will have significant interaction with the firm's trading and origination business as well as the firm's support and control functions
Maintenance of appropriate records and documentation including the creating of file notes
Supporting the development, testing, calibration and implementation of surveillance systems and processes that operationalise compliance with internal or external regulatory compliance requirements
Identify issues or improvements for resolution
Supporting the preparation of management reporting
Supporting Requests for Information (RFI) and investigations where required
Delivering training where required

Requirements:

Extensive experience within a monitoring / reviewing / auditing role
Effective user of office technology and ability to analyse data using a variety of tools
Demonstrate some knowledge of energy products, trading and more generally an understanding of energy markets
Show evidence of clear analytical thinking and be capable of carrying out analysis of trading data and communications
Get to the heart of complex operational problems and issues
