MERJE are partnered with a market leading trading business who are looking for a Trade Surveillance Officer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate under a high degree of regulatory scrutiny from regulators and exchanges in the wholesale traded markets in areas such as REMIT, EMIR, MAR, MiFID II and exchange/trading venue rules
- The role will have significant interaction with the firm's trading and origination business as well as the firm's support and control functions
- Maintenance of appropriate records and documentation including the creating of file notes
- Supporting the development, testing, calibration and implementation of surveillance systems and processes that operationalise compliance with internal or external regulatory compliance requirements
- Identify issues or improvements for resolution
- Supporting the preparation of management reporting
- Supporting Requests for Information (RFI) and investigations where required
- Delivering training where required
Requirements:
- Extensive experience within a monitoring / reviewing / auditing role
- Effective user of office technology and ability to analyse data using a variety of tools
- Demonstrate some knowledge of energy products, trading and more generally an understanding of energy markets
- Show evidence of clear analytical thinking and be capable of carrying out analysis of trading data and communications
- Get to the heart of complex operational problems and issues
