Job Description - Finance Assistant

Role Purpose:


The role of Cancer Research Wales is to raise funds to support pioneering cancer research in Wales, which has the potential to benefit lives in the future.

The post holder will be responsible for processing income received from supporters and payments to suppliers.

The post holder will support the Head of Finance with any other duties as appropriate.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide financial support to the charity e.g. receive, handle and produce financial records, along with at times counting large quantities of money.
  • Accepting oneoff donations over the telephone and also setting up Direct Debits for supporters who wish to make a regular donation.
  • Oversee all aspects of the receipt, batching, checking and banking of donations to the CRM
    (ThankQ) from individuals and organisations to ensure income is coded correctly.
  • Ensure all
    Just Giving pages and donations are processed, coded and allocated to the appropriate contact / budget holder.
  • Balancing the cash and cheques received, completing appropriate payingin slips and ensuring cash is banked regularly at least weekly.
  • Manage the processing of
    Gift Aid income to ensure the organisation maximises income from all charitable activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the finance and corporate services team to ensure fundraising income is coded accurately in line with budget expectations.
  • Register supplier invoices onto
    Sage 50 and process for authorisation
  • Deal with supplier enquiries

    £10,128.83 actual gross pa (£19,111 FTE gross pa)

Hours


20 hours per week

  • To be worked over
    5 days from Monday
  • Friday

4 hours per day between the hours of
9am-5pm:

    fully office based
