Introduction:


Our client is a leading Consultancy client within the Defence and Government sector and they are looking for experienced Project/Programme Management Consultants.


They offer the opportunity to work across a range of programmes and designing and delivering the strategy for the programmes, as well as implementing project controls, PMOs and processes to deliver large complex digital and workplace transformation programmes.

The role requires someone with core Defence/National Security experience, who has experience working in a Consulting environment.


This is a hybrid role with 2 days minimum on site per week but it is possible that you will need to travel up to 4 days per week during busy periods.

Key responsibilities:


  • Work alongside Defence and Government organisations to understand their challenges and problems which need solving.
  • Design, development and transform programme strategies, including setting up projects and PMOs from scratch.
  • The development of engagement plans, production of deliverables, change management activities.
  • Lead workshop/meeting facilitations.
  • Work across projects involving: Operating Model design and implementation, project controls transformation, programme governance.
  • Leading technology focused programmes in an agile environment.
  • Support progress reporting, risk management and financial controls in relation to the programme or workstream.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth within the clients.
  • Develop the project/programme management capability within the clients.

Skills & experience:


  • Strong Defence/National Security experience within a Consulting environment.
  • Experience of setting up projects/programmes from scratch, including PMO, Project Controls and Governance development.
  • Knowledge of technical/agile delivery.
  • Ability to present to client/stakeholders at all levels in an organisation.
