Based in Kingswinford, West Midlands, TM Brooks Ltd is a long-established and profitable business which designs, fabricates and installs steel frameworks and components for the construction industry.

We are now looking to expand our operations team as part of our continuing growth plans.


Company Outline


Established over 50 years ago, TM Brooks Ltd designs, fabricates and installs steel frameworks and components, predominantly for clients within the construction sector.

Working for small-to-medium contractors on projects ranging from a few thousand pounds to circa half a million pounds.


Most projects are in the Midlands area, but the company has installed frameworks from Scotland down to the south coast, where required and where viable.

Turnover is consistently around £2m+ and the company is very profitable, despite carrying out little or no marketing. All work currently comes from word-of-mouth and referrals.


About the role


Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced and confident accounts assistant to join our team in Kingswinford.

Assisting with all areas of accounting within the company, you will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Opening new customer accounts
  • Daily Invoicing, monthly statements
  • Customer Credit management
  • Allocating payments
  • Providing POD's, copy invoices etc.
  • Chasing money, credit control
  • Completing supplier account forms
  • Purchase Invoice Checking
  • Delivery notes allocation
  • Entering onto P/L System (stock purchase or nominal account)
  • Invoice query letters/queries with suppliers
  • Payment reconciliation


As an integral part of the team, you will be highly organised, computer literate with the ability to follow strict procedures and be able to multitask in a busy environment, moving between various company systems within the group.


An excellent communicator with good computer literacy, you will be able to work to a high standard and ensure 100% accuracy.


Essential:


  • Minimum of AAT Level 2 years' experience in accounts
  • Sage 50 proficient
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Good customer facing/presentation skills.
  • Flexibility of working hours to suit the needs of the business.

Desirable:


  • Experience in construction and manufacturing industry


This is a full time, permanent position which offers a salary of up to £25,000.00 per year, depending on skills and experience.

We are looking to interview as soon as possible for an immediate start date.
