Description

We are looking for a Transport Coordinator for our Client based in Samlesbury on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Main duties will be ensuring that all operational activities are undertaken in a safe, legal, and cost-effective manner along with meeting operational KPIs and network objectives ensuring that we meet or exceed customer expectations.

Starting salary of £26,000.00 to raise to £28,000.00 once probationary period is complete.

The role will consist of carrying out general day-to-day duties relating to the transport function - including but not limited to:

Daily face-to-face customer interaction with management and warehouse personnel
Despatch drivers/loads
Brief and debrief drivers
Liaise with service providers to ensure vehicle maintenance standards are met
Ensure EU driver legislations are adhered to.
Provide updates on collections and deliveries to clients.
Working unsupervised, managing your own time and priorities to meet tight deadlines.
Data input and use of computer systems.
Making bookings for deliveries to customers.
Production of appropriate documentation
General administration duties
Dealing with queries and following an escalation process as required
Record keeping
Overseeing the trailer park on sight
Adhering to all Health and Safety protocols on site
Transport Planning or Operational experience preferred
Experience with complex logistics operations ideal
Industry knowledge of distribution, logistics and supply chain management
Knowledge of relevant legislation (driver hours, vehicle weights etc. ) desirable
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Flexible attitude to working hours, overtime frequently available.
Good organisational and administrative skills
Good at task management and prioritisation
Ability to lone work
Team player
Ability to work under own initiative
Competent in standard PC suites i.e; office, excel, outlook
