Location:
Any UK Hub (Newbury, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, London) - Hybrid home working

Working hours:
Full-time (37.5 hours) or Part time (30 hours) considered

A new opportunity has arisen for an Opex Manager to oversee the planning and governance across UK Networks Opex portfolio which will include ensuring the alignment of operational drivers, with the financial planning and data (budget, costs and benefits)to allow informed decision making.


What will you be doing?


You will work closely with Finance teams to deliver Opex in-year rolling forecasts/financial planning cycles that are aligned to the operational drivers.

You will ensure Opex reporting and change management is on par with Capex reporting.


Your responsibilities will also include developing, implementing and running an assurance process for Opex throughout its lifecycle; including due diligence checks on key operational processes (eg circuit inventory), deployment assumptions, savings initiativesdelivery, and interconnects with external demand/partners such as VF Business and Property teams (eg Cost of Sale overlay.)


In addition you will develop, implement and run a Long Range Plan process to ensure Opex impact of Capex LRP is understood, maintained and change controlled, tracking key operational and volume/price drivers.

Central to this governance role, you will have oversight of Networks FTE tracking, planning and change control, and link to Opex planning.


Who are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience of working closely with business teams and with financial planning & reporting.(preferably within a Technology function)
  • Able to interpret operational drivers and link to financial impact and planning
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels demonstrated by the ability to build excellent working relationships.
  • Able to confidently use and shape operational reporting and review forums to ensure focus on Opex delivery and performance
  • Ability to analyse, identify & leverage opportunity to address any challenges that may get presented throughout the financial year.
