LARA Search is working in partnership with a special college in Carshalton that caters for students between the ages of 16 and 25 with mild, moderate, severe and profound learning need.

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to plan and deliver individualized learning activities for students with complex needs.
Provide onetoone and group support for students with additional needs.
Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, including supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and senior leadership.
Attend meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals as required.

Requirements:

Experience working with students with complex needs, ideally in an educational setting.
Knowledge of a range of SEN needs and strategies to support students with complex needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to working with students with complex needs.
Able to carry out personal care as part of the role.
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, would be an advantage.
