Reading Buddy

We are looking for a
1-1 Reading specialist to support students with Phonics and encouraging Reading throughout the school.


We are working with a school in Walsall to appoint a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant who has experience, or an interest, in supporting children in small groups and 1-1 who have fallen behind on their Reading.


They are looking for someone who can nurture supportive relationships and be able to demonstrate a practical, hands on approach to supporting teaching.

In addition to this, you will be required to assist the children during the lunch time.

  • Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
  • Experience of the Primary curriculum
  • Flexible and adaptable with timetabling and the daily routines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with parents and relevant staff

You need the following:


  • Reside in the UK
  • Have a right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Contactable references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
