An exciting key leadership opportunity has arisen within EPUT Financial Management and Business Partnering team.

The role is the most senior financial leadership post aligned to supporting and advising Care Units with turnover of c£120m.

The role will act as a Finance Director for Care Units providing all round financial and business advice. The role will be instrumental in delivery of financial and Care Unit objectives.

The postholder will be an active participant of Senior Management leadership teams within Care Units and the Finance function.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to influence, add value and deliver on a variety of agendas.

The postholder must have high professional standards, integrity and possess enthusiasm and energy with a desire for continuous improvement.

This is a high profile post integral to the success of the organisation.

The post holder is expected to work at a high level in the organisation demonstrating credibility with the Trust Directors, Senior Management Team and Clinicians, and at a senior level with external bodies e.g., Commissioners and NHS Improvement/England.


The post holder has the following key areas of responsibility:

  • To be accountable for the provision of a high-quality financial management, governance and advisory service to the Board of Directors, Executive Directors, budget holders, senior managers and clinical leaders within the Trust. This includes being accountable for all financial performance reporting internally and externally through the leadership and management of the Trust's Financial Management Department
  • To be accountable for the development of true business partnering with their chosen care unit. To develop longterm and productively relationships with the care unit director and act as a mini Finance Director for this business unit
  • To be responsible for overseeing the preparation of robust forecasts to be agreed with the Director of Finance. Including developing the operational and strategic final plans and the identification of risks and mitigating actions within such plans

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.


All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
