Established in 1931, Hindle Gears is a subcontract manufacturer of engineering parts for the MOD, construction, power generation industries and more.

The company is recruiting for an assistant buyer to join to commercial team as support for the commercial manager in the purchase of direct raw materials and sub-contract services.

The team is responsible for the majority of the buying for the business and acts as vital support to all the departments within the company.

Dealing with global suppliers daily the role is varied and the role includes:

• Using MRP and supporting in the purchasing of raw materials and engineered stock products used for the manufacture of gears and gearboxes. E.g Bar stock, castings, bearings, fasteners.

- o Sourcing products and services
- o Negotiating pricing
- o Raising purchase orders
- o Checking order acknowledgements
- o Expediting orders
- o Assisting in the quotation process

• Communicating with production department on incoming deliveries and all risk
• Maintaining supplier records

- o Supplier performance
- o Supplier approvals
- o Supplier auditing

• Working with the technical and quality departments to overcome issues that may arise
• Maintain import records
• Ad hoc purchasing
• Prefer experience in an engineering/purchasing environment.
• Education up to A-Levels or equivalent preferred.
• Proactive and forward thinking, with the ability to work independently
• Option for development available

37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30

Friday 07:30 - 12:30

33 days holiday per annum inc. 8 bank holidays

On-site parking provided
