Provide Bereavement leadership within the Maternity services of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust to all staff working within this environment.
All aspects of work must reflect the Trusts values of kind, safe and excellent patient centred bereavement care.
Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence within the clinical area of responsibility for staff, women, their families and carers, providing assistance, advice and support.
Support staff to co-ordinate the activities of bereavement care, including the process of funeraldirection for each family and accurate completion of appropriate paperwork.
Provide specialist guidance for staff in liaising with outside agencies such as Funeral Directors, Registrar of Births and Deaths and Coroner's office, Humanist and other local faith leaders as appropriate for families referred to the service.

Disclosure and Barring Service:
On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.
