Purpose of the role:


The role will be supporting the operational functions with all financial matters including rolling forecasts, budgets, business plans, product costing and inventory.

This role will support key internal stakeholders, giving them a financial focus and helping them drive the business strategy of profitability.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Forming monthly rolling forecasts, budget, and business plan for Operations
  • Business partnering all of Operations, ensuring that results are in line with plan, helping them understand the current and future performance of the business as well as aiding decision making
  • Partner Project managers to understand their requirements and resource demands to ensure robust forecasting and management of spend to budget. Ability to understand and report variances to budget and prior forecasts
  • Ownership of product cost models, helping partners and potential partners, to understand key cost drivers and materials efficiencies
  • Performing all internal factory cost accounting activities leading to a robust understanding of historic, current, and future costs
  • Aid the development of business cases to ensure key decisions are being made with financial impacts being known

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified.
  • Experience of manufacturing processes and finances, including standard costing
  • An analytical approach with a clear passion for accuracy and attention to detail
  • A questioning nature and confident in challenging established norms to identify improvements
  • Ability to influence and communicate confidently with people across the business at all levels of seniority
  • Preparing forecasts and budgets
  • Inventory and standard costing
  • Technical IAS2 knowledge and experience with stock takes and audits desirable but not essential
  • Finance business partnering within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Having the ability to work crossfunctionally, building strong relationships while challenging the status quo as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability adapt different styles for different audiences
  • Strong presentation skills able to influence through your presentations
  • Selfmotivated with good time management to lead conflicting priorities in a fastpaced environment
