Our client, a maritime training provider based in Glasgow are looking for a Technical Instructor to add to their team.
As Technical Instructor you will play a key role in helping to develop HSEQ based training programmes. Such programmes will include banksman/ slinging and rigging based courses, which require industry expertise and experience.The role of Technical Instructor will be of a consultative and development nature, however periodic
teaching of HSEQ related courses/modules will also be required.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT- NEBOSH Qualified. A1 Assessor or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of training and delivery of HSEQ related courses. Train the trainer (if not holding a formal teaching qualification). Exceptional leadership and management skills which can be evidenced by initiatives delivered on or offshore. Experience working in a senior role within HSEQ. Awareness and understanding of current courses including BOSIET and MIST that includes HSEQ themed criteria. Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills. Robust and resilient individual who is prepared to convey their point of view in an unbiased manner with an ability to challenge. Exceptional organisational and planning skills. Systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to task.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Design and deliver appropriate and cost-effective assessment, training and development solutions as directed to meet industry and legislative standards.
Support the Survival department when required to teach HSEQ aspects of current training portfolios. Consult with clients on new courses (if required). Embrace the company's core values and culture. Manage key internal and external stakeholders, representing the Company at industry events as required. Provide key analytics and reports to Senior Management as required on training deliverables. Work in a mentoring capacity with other instructors within the Company business, to drive increased proficiency within the team and upskill in new areas. Work in compliance with and participate in the review/audit of company Quality Management Systems as well as the Safety Management System (SMS). Support and develop other instructors with regards to CPD. Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff and contractors for the delivery of HSEQ based training. You may be asked to carry out other duties, not associated with your role, from time to time to support the wider business.
