The Role

  • We are currently seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to support the organisation, management and effective administration of programmes and partnership activity for our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) team.
  • Is educated to Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Has experience within an administrative or clerical role
  • Demonstrates good IT skills
  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide high level customer service
  • Can prioritise and solve standard problems
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing frontline advice and assistance to visitors to the Education Hub.
  • Providing a high level of customer service to all customers, including applicants, students and schools/educational settings.
  • Sending routine correspondence relating to the work of the ITE department.
  • Organising and taking minutes at committees/working groups/formal meetings.
  • Being an active member of ITE programme committees and Ofsted working groups, alongside departmental and professional services meetings.
  • Offering explanations on procedures relating to programmes, assessment and quality assurance as required
  • Collating, storing and processing data relating to student grades, attendance monitoring, retention information and placement data in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), University procedures and Ofsted regulations, in order for it to be interpreted by the Head of Department, Director of Partnership and Programme Leaders.
  • Being an effective and collaborative member of the School of Education's professional services team.
