Job summary:

The FCDO pursues our national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world.

We promote the interests of British citizens, safeguard the UK's security, defend our values, reduce poverty and tackle global challenges with our international partners.

This is a technical role responsible for managing the FCDO's tangible and intangible assets of £2.3bn at 31 March 2023.

You will lead a small team and report into the Senior Financial Advisor and Asset Management Lead within the Financial Accounting team.

The FCDO has a portfolio of global assets comprising land/buildings, as well as vehicles and other equipment. In addition there are smaller amounts of artwork, along with intangible assets to manage.

You will be the key contact for all non-current asset questions, providing accounting advice and technical support.

Non-current assets are a significant audit risk for the FCDO, so this role is integral in the FCDO's Annual Report and Accounts process.

The FCDO have recently implemented a cloud-based version of Oracle, therefore you will have some scope to develop existing processes and controls and shape the way the FCDO accounts for its non-current assets.

You will join a large financial accounting team and will have line management responsibilities.
