The role of Critical Care and Renal IHD Equipment Management Lead is an integral part of the Critical Care operational management team.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Head of Nursing, Matrons, EBME and Consultants, Deputy General Manager and GM for Critical Care, Clinical teams, Trust Supply team and Renal and CSSD technicians to ensure smooth and efficient running of Critical Care and Intermittent Dialysis services.

The post holder In collaboration with the procurement team, ensure that a cost-effective purchasing/contracts work programme is developed and maintained to achieve target financial savings


To provide professional support and guidance on all critical care supply related matters, promptly dealing with user queries and complaints related to the service and products supplied, always ensuring effective and ongoing supply chain management is achieved.

Responsible for maintaining and reviewing stock levels within the department

Responsible for ensuring the repair and maintenance of medical devices and surgical instrumentation

The Critical Care and Intermittent Haemodialysis (IHD) Equipment Management Lead is responsible for:

Liaising with the Critical Care clinical teams, Renal teams and EBME regarding the maintenance, safe storage and usage of all medical and surgical equipment within the services.

Supporting the clinical staff in the use of, and training for specialist/new equipment within the critical care department.

Trouble-shooting equipment problems and escalating as necessary to either the HON, Matrons, EBME or external contractors.

Liaising with EBME regarding the timely maintenance/servicing of all in
- house maintained medical and surgical equipment and ensure that the services are in date.

Liaising with external contractors regarding the maintenance medical and surgical equipment on repair/replacement contracts.

Assisting in the maintenance of an equipment register for all medical and surgical equipment within the department.

Liaise with Buyers and Finance to resolve discrepancies and queries.

Managing /Supervising lower band staff and technicians across all three Critical Care areas and the IHD service
