Our ENT/MAXFAX services have a great opportunity for an Ward Administrator/Clerk to join its team n Billericay Ward for a full time role (08:00 to 16:00) at Broomfield Hospital, contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive and effective administration service by working closely with administrative and clinical colleagues within the Trust to ensure a safe and effective service is provided to patients.


As our ward clerk, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, boking patients in, check patient details and ensuring that they are sent to the place and be responsible for patient outcomes, booking appointments and discharging where necessary.


You will be required to work as part of the team within the MSE University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with excellent communication skills both verbal and written as you will be dealing with patients, their families and healthcare professionals on a daily basis.


Your role will be to carry out proficient, professional reception service to all visitors, patients, and colleagues, and administrative and other mutually agreed duties to maintain the smooth running of the ward.


Your role will involve greeting and welcoming all persons entering the ward, checking identification of staff requiring access to patient information, answering the telephone correctly by adhering to the Trust's telephone protocol, able to understand and give messages received to the appropriate person i.e.

Ward Manager or nurse in charge and to maintain good communication and relationships with patients/carers, members of the MDT and nurses in consultation with Ward Manager.


You will be liaising with other wards and departments as required to maintain accurate and up to date patient records and attending and participating in Ward/Directorate meetings, expected to know all aspects of the ward environment and prepare notes for ward rounds ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

and will ensure that notes trolley is organized and supplied with necessary forms as well as patient case notes.
