Trainee HR Advisor
Cars2 is a highly successful motor retailer based in West and South Yorkshire.

We are a family run business, that has grown extensively in recent years and now represent several of the world's leading motor brands, including Hyundai, Nissan, SEAT, MG, and Renault.


We now have an exciting opportunity at our Head Office in Wakefield for a budding HR professional to join our existing HR team.


The Role
As a Trainee HR Advisor, you will assist the Group HR Manager with the day-to-day human resources activity for the Group, as well as support the recruitment, employee relations, induction, apprenticeship administration and time & attendance monitoring


Your responsibilities will include:

  • To develop your knowledge by taking direction from the Group HR Manager to respond to HR queries effectively.
  • To assist the recruitment process with the preparation of job offers, contracts and amendments.
  • Assist with employee relations processes such as first level disciplinary and grievance meetings.
  • Issue probation letters.
  • Processing new starters, leavers, and induction paperwork.
  • Drafting reports and letters in relation to human resource issues.
  • Managing the apprenticeship training documentation.
  • Advising the management team of staff absence and recording this correctly.

Skills and experience required
As a Trainee HR Advisor at Cars2, it is essential that you have:

  • Worked in a Head Office role or similar.
  • Basic HR knowledge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • An up to date working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • An excellent command of English Language with writing skills to match.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Training towards or willing to study CIPD qualification (Level 3 & 5) (optional).

The Person
The position of HR Advisor would suit an experienced individual that is/has:

  • Friendly, with an ability to form relationships with management and employees (at all levels).
  • Professional manner.
  • Highly organised.
  • Commercially focused.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Willingness to be agile towards the needs of the business.

Salary - Up to £25,200 (depending upon experience) per annum.

You are required to hold a driving licence as there will be a requirement to travel between sites.
