The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) is a professional engineering institution and registered charity, the principal mission of which is to promote the advancement of the science and practice of non-destructive testing (NDT), condition monitoring (CM), structural health monitoring (SHM) and other related materials testing disciplines.

BINDT is currently seeking a Publishing Assistant to support the day-to-day work of its busy Publishing Department.


Reporting to the Head of Publishing, Media and Marketing, duties will include proofreading, assisting with the preparation of text, images and equations for publication and the production of a wide range of print and digital materials, including journals, newsletters, conference proceedings, text books, reports and other publications.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, is essential as is previous experience in a similar role.


You will be an articulate communicator with a confident and friendly nature and an exceptional command of the English language.

Flexibility, a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential requirements. An interest in engineering and/or science would be advantageous but is not essential.


We will provide a competitive remuneration and benefits package based on a permanent, full-time post, 35 hours (5 days) per week, with the opportunity for a hybrid working arrangement.
