An engineering consultancy dedicated to delivering sustainable and innovative solutions in the built environment is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join their London team.

Role Overview

They are looking for a Sustainability Consultant with experience specialising in Building Physics and Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA).

In this role you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable design and construction practices.

Your expertise will help their clients achieve their sustainability goals, ensuring that their buildings are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and compliant with the latest regulations and standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Building Physics Analysis: Conduct detailed building physics simulations and analyses, including thermal modelling, energy performance assessments, and daylight analysis.
  • Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA): Perform WLCA for various projects, evaluating the carbon footprint across the entire lifecycle of buildings, from material extraction to demolition.
  • Sustainable Design Consultancy: Provide expert advice on sustainable design strategies, including passive design, lowenergy systems, and renewable energy integration.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects comply with relevant sustainability regulations and standards, such as BREEAM, LEED, and WELL.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients, understanding their sustainability objectives, and delivering tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining highquality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the collective expertise and innovation within the company.
Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: A degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in building physics and WLCA within the construction or consultancy sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in building performance simulation software (e.g., IES VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus) and carbon assessment tools (e.g., OneClick LCA).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK sustainability regulations and standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing sustainability challenges.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
