The Company
Mikado Foods is a BRC-accredited food importer and distributor, based in High Wycombe. Whilst we are a young company and have a small team, we are rapidly growing. We supply major multiple retailers, national food service operators and major restaurant chains with a range of ambient products.
The Role
You will work independently and assist the Managing Director and the rest of the team with a wide variety of duties.
There's a great scope to grow and develop as our business continues to grow.
The position will suit an energetic, passionate, self-motivated person with relevant technical experience/qualifications who can use their initiative to support the business needs concerning the Technical and Quality aspects of our products.
You will enjoy a fast-paced environment, be flexible and adaptive, have a team approach and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to speak foreign languages is desired but not essential.By supporting the Managing Director, you will maintain and develop product Food Safety, Quality and Legality, as well as:
- System maintenance records, including HACCP, Traceability, BRC auditing & associated processes.
- Organisation and updating of Supplier Approval records.
- Customer and Consumer Complaints Reporting and data analysis, identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and following these through with manufacturing facilities.
- Undertaking, analysing and maintaining records of both Routine and NPD Finished Product/ ingredient analysis.
- Investigation and KPI reporting of nonconformances.
- Create and maintain Specifications for Raw Materials & Finished products for UK and International territories.
- Collaborating and supporting with NPD processes and Customer requests.
- Maintaining awareness of legislative issues including UK, EU and International territories food and labelling legislation.
- Attending manufacturing supplier visits/Technical audits; complete audit reports, KPI tracking and publication.
- Supporting and leading projects to further strengthen Product Food Safety and Quality awareness for the business.
- Product labelling/packaging design and development.
Essential skills:
- Relevant qualifications/experience
- Knowledge of HACCP principles & BRC Agents & Brokers certification
Desirable skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Spanish is beneficial
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is beneficial
- Work to a high level of accuracy
- Good numerical and literacy skills
- High levels of computer proficiency
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Have good relationship building skills
- Be selfmotivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn
- To possess initiative with an inquisitive nature, unafraid to ask appropriate questions
