KCH Garden Square, a Barristers' Chambers with two offices in the Midlands, are looking to recruit a new Practice Assistant within the Civil & Family Team.
This important support role will suit someone seeking a junior position in an interesting professional services environment.The Person
We are looking for someone who sees their long-term career in Practice Management (Clerking).
This junior role offers scope and opportunity for personal and professional development and mentorship as a Barristers Clerk at one of the leading sets in the area.
Key Responsibilities
Day to Day
- Chasing for counsels papers and other documents
- Photocopying, printing and scanning of documents when required
- Delivering papers to and from court on occasion
- Obtaining court listings
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- Arranging and setting up conferences (remote & in person)
- Assisting other team members in the efficient management barristers' diaries
- Assisting with basic billing procedures as and when required and attending to the main billing inboxes during busy periods.
- Strong IT skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident and polite style of communication
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Polite, proactive and friendly manner
- Previous experience of working in a barrister's chambers or legal environment, such as solicitors or other law firm
- Knowledge and experience of general administrative work
- Experience in a customer service environment
Working Hours:
, Monday to Friday.
