Location and flexible working:

This role could be based in our Wythall, Telford, London or Edinburgh office working three days per week at home.

We have an incredible opportunity here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Capital Management Actuary to join our Capital Modelling Team.

The role

  • Develop proposals for Phoenix's Major Model Change delivery strategy and approach, in line with strategic aims
  • Act as the daytoday lead on virtual, multisite and crossdiscipline teams to deliver Major Model Change projects
  • Identify and implement enhancements to the capital models to improve our risk modelling and understanding
  • Drive on all related governance and guide on regulatory engagement for the Internal Model approval
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across Phoenix, establish stakeholder interests and ensuring outputs from the actuarial function remain uptodate, relevant and effective.
  • Coach and mentor team members in support of their development

What are we looking for?

  • An excellent relationship builder able to drive complex and challenging initiatives working across functional boundaries
  • Ability to use a range of communication and influencing techniques to gain support and buyin from stakeholders.
  • A qualified Actuary with strong knowledge of Internal Model and Solvency II regulation and considerations in order to deliver capital enhancements needed to drive the business forward in a compliant manner.
  • Inspiring people leadership to ensure we build a strong, engaged team and develop our internal talent.
  • Ability to drive complex change, thrive in a dynamic and developing environment, and want to be part of building and working as a team.
