24/7 shift pattern - 12hours days and nights

Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.

Essential Responsibilities


The jobholder is responsible for setting and operating machine/machines and loading various tooling along with materials associated with the various components manufactured.

The Jobholder reports the Production Team Leader or Supervisor who allocates work on a daily basis. The jobholder is required to work on own initiative with little supervision other than to take priority work from the Line manager as required


The jobholder is responsible for machining components to specification and customer requirements using detailed drawings and layouts which requires a degree of concentration.

Failure to ensure the correct set up of tooling and component may result in poor quality, reprocessing and scrap at a cost to the business.


The jobholder is required to ensure the tooling being loaded is fit for purpose and it is their responsibility to advise on or change them when necessary.

The jobholder is also responsible for maintaining the metal working fluid levels and disposing of them as per company guidelines.


The job requires the setup of the correct tools and components according to approved layouts and to load the correct programme and requires a degree of decision making and judgement in order to produce parts to customer specification and standard.

Failure to do so may result in poor quality, reprocessing and scrap at a cost to the business.


The jobholder is responsible for reporting all component / machine non-conformances using the appropriate forms to the Team Leader or Quality Inspector.


The jobholder does not have quantifiable targets other than to complete the tasks in a timely fashion according to the job card.

Position Requirements


Academic:

The job requires a basic level of education, numeracy and literacy.


The job requires the jobholder to have undergone a time served recognised engineering apprenticeship and / or undertaken a recognised qualification in performing machine operations.


Experience:


The jobholder should have been certified to operate over head cranes or be willing to be trained in this area.


The job requires the jobholder to be able to operate the CNC computer control centre and be able to load the appropriate programme.

The job requires the jobholder to undergo specific training on new CNC machines or new product packages as required.

The job requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings and the use of calibration and measuring equipment.
