About the role

You will work closely with every member of the team from the Head of Service to the newly qualified social worker with responsibility for a variety of direct work with children and families and the administrative tasks required.

Responsibilities will include, working directly with children and families under the direction of the social worker, making contact with partner agencies to gather and share information, taking & recording minutes, writing letters, completing referrals to other agencies, maintaining electronic files and any other tasks identified by your manager.

Qualifications

Educated to GCSE or equivalent (essential)
Educated to A level or higher level of further education (desirable)

Skills and experience:

Experienced in using a variety of IT recording systems
An awareness of child developmental stages and the impact of adverse childhood experiences
A developing confidence in working directly with children and families
Excellent written, verbal and comprehension skills
Experienced and confident in communicating with professionals to share, gather and record information
Awareness of Children's Services processes and procedures and knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 200
Experience of providing customer services, with an excellent understanding of, and ability to deliver, high quality customer care skills in an antidiscriminatory context
Experienced in taking and writing minutes of meetings
