Akton recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join the team at the Dorset Council.
Job Role - Team Leader

We require a 3-month part time Social Work qualified Team Manager to support our growing Care Leaver Services whilst we recruit to this position.

We require a soon as possible start for this temporary position. To form part of our existing management team and offer supervision and oversight to personal advisors within the services.
Main purpose
1) To Lead, manage and provide professional support to staff in a locality team in accordance with Directorate policy and practice.
2) To take decisions leading to the setting of work standards for others leading to changes in procedures or practices
3) Be responsible for the outcome of relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts to ensure the effective delivery of the service
Main responsibilities
1) To take responsibility for supervision of individual staff members and for ongoing areas of team responsibility, including individual case situations.
2) Operate within financial and budgetary guidelines for the delivery of care plans to meet service users/carers needs and make decisions on behalf of the Locality Manager, as requested.
3) Make proposals for the improvement of Team practice and to develop systems for
accurate data recording and improved performance management.
4) To deputise for the Locality Manager as required.
5) Work collaboratively within the Directorate, with statutory agencies, voluntary agencies and independent sector organisations and take on specific liaison or development roles on behalf of the Locality Manager.
6) Take responsibility for promoting safeguarding, including involvement in related casework.
7) Bring to the attention of the Locality Manager and initiate and implement plans of action in relation to staff performance, including sickness absence, staff conduct and case
management.
