    Field Engineer (Mechanical)

    We are seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to join our Site Quality Surveillance Team at Hinkley Point C nuclear site in West Somerset.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform surveillance of mechanical installations and construction activities.
    • Check works compliance with specifications and report deviations/non-conformance.
    • Monitor installation of pipework, tanks, vessels, HVAC, turbines, pumps, and heat exchangers.
    • Verify alignment checks, torque control, and joint integrity.

    Requirements

    • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5 years' hands-on mechanical installation experience.
    • Understanding of Quality Assurance Requirements (ISO9001).

    This is a unique opportunity to join one of the UK's largest nuclear construction projects, focusing on observation and quality assurance rather than physical work. Ideal for candidates looking to build a foundation within NNB over 24-36 months, the position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality standards while working collaboratively across multiple project teams.
