The team

ITS (Innovation and Technology Services) is the University's IT directorate, responsible for the maintenance and onward development of IT Services that support the University's business needs.

As the University continues to grow, and in light of a new Digital Strategy, York St John is investing in several areas of their IT service.

One such area is the enhancement of their Innovation and Technology Services department.

With over 30 staff already working within the department, this function continues to grow, creating a range of opportunities - with the ambition to deliver a bold new Digital Strategy for the University.

The role

Under the direction of the Applications & TEL Manager, and in consultation with key staff supporting delivery of the Digital Capability and Digital Learning, Teaching & Student Experience goal, the post holder will act as a change ambassador across the organisation.

They will support the work associated with the Digital Strategy and assist in the implementation of the objectives to improve and enhance the digital capability of digital learning & teaching.

Required skills and experience

Experience in identifying needs and designing and delivering inspiring/motivating training/development interventions with a range of professionals.
Understanding of quality enhancement in higher education and a track record of leading and supporting innovative technologyenhanced learning approaches to learning, teaching and assessment in the HE environment.
Established learning technologist experienced in the pedagogic use of technology in a higher education environment.
Experience in implementation, integration or embedding into practice, TEL systems and software.
An understanding of relevant TEL standards and knowledge of inclusion and accessibility issues, privacy, intellectual property, and copyright issues.
Experience in managing or leading people or projects (including evidence of CPD relating to management or leadership).
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels within the University.
Ability to work, support and collaborate with colleagues across the Innovation & Technology Services (ITS) department and the University.
