Stores Person
Reporting to Team Leader
  • Stores / Materials Manager.
Duties will primarily comprise of the loading and offloading of vehicles, movement of materials around the site as directed by the Team Leader
  • Stores / Materials Manager.
Basic recording of materials movement on D365, or any other tasks as requested by the Team Leader
  • Stores / Materials Manager.

1.
Qualification


Employees attaining this grade will hold a current, valid licence to operate all equipment associated with material movement at the site.

An approved body will have certified this qualification.


2.
Skills and tasks
Operating within the stores department at the site with prime responsibility to the stores department.

The employee will be able to competently carry out the following:


  • Loading and offloading vehicles using appropriate materials handling equipment.
  • Moving materials around the site & tank moves using appropriate materials handling equipment.
  • Ensuring all storage areas are kept clean, tidy and clear of any hazards.
  • Implementation of the existing goods inwards procedure.
  • Goods inwards inspection.
  • Checking of all deliveries, booking in on D365 and subsequent labelling of all items with the consignment.
  • Maintaining accurate computer stock records by effective entry on to D365 of all stock movements.
  • Effective picking and issue of components required for the workshop to complete their work orders.
  • Interpretation and implementation packing specifications.
  • Effective packing of finished components, and appropriate safe loading of vehicles.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Team Leader
  • Stores / Materials Manager.


May from time to time be expected to learn new skills in order to keep pace with the evolution of technology and/or new equipment, etc.

The employee will:

  • Complete tasks promptly so that material movements are recorded on D365 promptly normally within the same working day.

Flexibility
May be asked to carry out other tasks in order to meet the needs of the business.

For example, an individual may be asked to carry out ancillary operations, clean up an area of the factory, assist in training and induction of a new employee, or any other task for which the employee has appropriate skills.

Such requests will be regarded as reasonable, and individuals will be expected to adopt a flexible attitude. Additional payment will not normally be made to employees in these circumstances.
