This is an exciting opportunity to be part of The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Foundation Trust People Team.

You will be responsible for providing a high quality and pro-active People Service.

Part of your remit will involve developing and maintaining regular contact with line managers to build strong and influential working relationships, sufficient to support and advise on all aspects of Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures.


This role will be key to supporting and coaching manager to undertake people management activities as well as provide a structured case management service.

These may involve, but not limited to sickness absence management, flexible working, capability, disciplinary, grievance, openness (whistle blowing), and harassment/bullying issues.


The post holder will have opportunity to be involved in many People Services related aspects such as supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion objectives, participating in recruitment drives, as well as supporting employee wellbeing objectives.

This a varied and dynamic role that will suit someone wishing to undertake a generalist role in an ambitious team.

The hospital is located on a site outside Oswestry, just off the A5. The nearest train station is in Gobowen, approximately two miles from the hospital. The station is part of the Chester to Birmingham line.


Responsibilities:

General

  • To provide advice to line managers on all aspects of people management policies and procedures
  • The post holder will provide a proactive and professional service to all colleagues within RJAH on matters related to people management, including advice on employee relations, recruitment and retention, workforce policies and procedures and NHS Terms and Conditions
  • To be a first point of contact, in partnership with the People Services Officers, for employee relations case management taking a lead role in the triaging of queries and planning process for case work
  • Ensure that advice anticipates early and timely interventions that enable concerns to be resolved at an early stage
  • Identify relevant course of action through assessment of situations and provide the necessary advice, using influencing and negotiation skills
  • To work with line managers and workforce colleagues to ensure delivery of workforce Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Support managers to foster a people focused culture which support employee wellbeing
  • To provide supervision support to People Services Officers/Administrators within the team, providing guidance and knowledge as required to ensure consistency of advice and quality of response to our managers.
  • To act responsibly and be a role model for the People Services profession within RJAH
  • Support a learning culture through a lessons learnt approach, including help to managers for them put reasonable and appropriate measures in place to prevent employment relations cases occurring
  • To champion equality and diversity in the workplace and to identify any issues or patterns that may be acting as a barrier to achieving our commitment to equality and diversity in employment
