Overall
To deliver high quality PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum to
all young people in Primary, Special and
Secondary Schools. To support teachers during curriculum time to enhance their knowledge and skills and improve confidence.

To deliver a range of projects including practical and classroom-based lessons and various interventions to improve young people's health and wellbeing.

Coaches will lead and organise competitions and festivals in area of expertise and deliver holiday provision.


Main Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Deliver high quality curriculum focused Physical Education, Sport and Health programmes.
  • Organise, plan and deliver a variety of schemes of work that match the national curriculum guidelines.
  • Work closely with school teachers in a supporting role to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver high quality PE.
  • Provide a basic form of assessment of young people during PE Lessons and feedback to school at the end of unit or work or term.
  • Support and Co lead the delivery of various projects, were qualified to do including leadership, literacy, numeracy and PSHE or 'catch up' PE Interventions, intra competitions and assessment programmes.
  • Work with the Social Media Lead to promote positive news stories whilst demonstrating the impact our programmes have on participants and the wider community.
  • Deliver school holiday provision during the school holidays.
  • To assist with the delivery, officiating and monitoring of various primary and secondary inter school competitions, festivals, and events, including leading in area of expertise.

General

  • To be fully conversant to Chorley SSP strategies, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, particularly health & safety and safeguarding.
  • To complete Chorley SSP or Schools documentation (e.g. risk assessment, registers, assessments and results) for relevant sessions and events, including data collecting and recording to ensure comprehensive monitoring ensuring that documents are completed, returned and processed promptly. Following in house procedures at all times regarding safe storage, access and compliance with GDPR.
  • To take responsibility for all equipment, kit and other resources (including IT) provided by Chorley SSP and/or the
School ensuring appropriate use, maintenance, cleaning and safety checks (where applicable) and storage.

  • To commit to and follow your own programme of continuous professional development and selfdirected learning. Always meeting national minimum operating standards and keeping up to date with industry standards and developments specifically relevant to your professional role.
  • To advocate and positively promote Chorley SSP to the public.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade of job, as may reasonably be required by the Director.
