We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking MEP Commercial Lead at Associate Director Level to join our established and growing team in London within our Mace MEP Services Business Unit to focus on the full lifecycle of projects from Work Winning, PCSA all the way through to Successful Project Delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leads the commercial aspects of the Project to ensure that both group strategies and Employer specified deliverables are met. Builds professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the optimum output commercially whilst enhancing the business's reputation. Inputs and influences strategic decisions for the Project
  • Assists in the production and implementation of the Project's strategies i.e., Win (Bid), Health & Safety, Welfare, Quality and Commissioning, understanding commercial input and allowances required to achieve these successfully.
  • Leads in the production and implementation of the Project's commercial specific strategies for pricing and scope, profit improvement, procurement strategy to maximise the Project position aiming to maximise returns whilst minimising the groups exposure to risk.
  • Leads the weekly commercial Project meeting, setting the agenda to cover procurement, design, change, supply chain management compliance and key aspects of the supply chain accounts ensuring actions are directed and recorded formally through the timeline of the Project.
  • Assist the Project Leads in the production of "preliminaries and resource" requirement for the Project ensuring suitable staff/staff positions are identified for the Project life cycle.
  • Assists the project engineers and package leads to identify and establish clear work demarcations between both the Main Contractor, Mace MEP and the supply chain. Review of the engineering reviews to ensure that suitable opportunities and risks are identified and mitigated / managed effectively throughout.
  • Leads and coordinates the overall supply chain prequalification process undertaking all due diligence checks whilst ensuring that all are aware of and can meet as a minimum the requirements of the overall Mace Supply Chain Management Pre-Qualification Process culminating in the production of the master bid list.
  • Leads in the production and coordination, in line with prospective Employer's requirements or company standards, of the tender documentation packs. Ensuring that all required documentation inclusive of the correct form of contract and stepdown clauses, package specific scope documents, drawings, specifications, pricing schedules and the like, are contained with the tender documentation and any subsequent contracts placed.
  • Leads the tender and supply chain return process communicating with all stake holders throughout the process to ensure bids are returned on time with all contractual and bid obligations reflected in their tender submissions
  • Coordinates the production of tender comparison / financial reconciliation of the supply chain tender submissions received, including production of the tender query schedules finalising in the presenting of the levelling documents.
  • Leads the bid placement report process. Responsible on a Project for compliance with the subsubcontract / purchase order placement process (including Consultancy Agreements) ensuring that any open tenderer qualifications are closed out for a specific package.
  • Leads the procurement process implementing the procurement strategy, ensuring contractual documentation is issued, supply chain specific amendments to standard terms and conditions are agreed and recorded with Mace legal and the Commercial Director whilst guaranteeing all contracts are executed.
  • Leads the commercial operations throughout the construction and commissioning phase of the Project ensuring commercial control via the management of the valuations, change control process, risks, opportunities and cashflow forecast whilst advising the Project team on key contractual obligations, clauses, notice provisions etc. both upstream and downstream.
  • Production of the monthly contract variance report both finance and internal versions on behalf of the Project Leads, forecasting the profitability of the Project and presenting at the respective monthly review meetings., taking responsibility for achieving reported numbers
