Description
Documentation at Couchbase is a crucial component of the product experience. As a technical writer, you'll work with our global team to deliver documentation that helps our customers be successful.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll experience the immediate and direct impact of your contributions through frequent (monthly) releases to our rapidly growing base of global customers in database management software.


Responsibilities:


  • Create documentation and other help content such as tutorials, sample code, best practices, and API documentation to ensure the success of our customers
  • Walk in the customers' shoes by playing with the software and ensuring that the documentation reflects best practices
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that features, enhancements, and changes are fully documented for monthly releases
  • Proactively engage with technical stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate frequently to keep the help content relevant and uptodate
  • Write clearly and concisely in American English, using a simple, conversational tone

Qualifications:


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with Git and Asciidoc, Markdown, or similar docsascode workflows
  • 23 years of technical experience: database, programming, or technical writing.
  • Experience reading or writing code examples for mobile languages
  • Android (Java or Kotlin); iOS (Swift or Objective C); JavaScript; Dart / Flutter;.NET (C#); or C.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Tech/Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred skills:


  • Understanding of relational or document databases
  • Experience with Cloud/SaaS or cloudnative database infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Broad technical experience (DevOps, testing, etc.)
