Job Description:

Based in London and reporting into the Global General Counsel, the responsibilities will include:

  • Handling disputes with shipowners and charterers concerning freight, demurrage, off-hire when escalated to the legal team
  • Dealing with varied workload of contentious and noncontentious matters relating to sale contracts, charter parties, bills of lading, cargo shortages and contamination, storage agreements, and general contract.

Qualifications:


  • Qualified lawyer with 45 years PQE, ideally 2 of those years on a training contract and remaining in a shipping company, oil major, energy trading firm
  • Currently performing a similar role at a shipping company, oil major, energy trading firm
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability
  • Additional language skills an advantage
