Job Description:

Based in London and reporting into the Global General Counsel, the responsibilities will include:

Handling disputes with shipowners and charterers concerning freight, demurrage, off-hire when escalated to the legal team
Dealing with varied workload of contentious and noncontentious matters relating to sale contracts, charter parties, bills of lading, cargo shortages and contamination, storage agreements, and general contract.

Qualifications:

Qualified lawyer with 45 years PQE, ideally 2 of those years on a training contract and remaining in a shipping company, oil major, energy trading firm
Currently performing a similar role at a shipping company, oil major, energy trading firm
Strong quantitative and analytical capability
Additional language skills an advantage
